Prevention of Oral and Dental Disease Research Center

History

In 2014, the research center for the prevention of oral and dental diseases at Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences was approved in order to expand research and provide solutions in oral and dental health care.

This center intends to play an essential role in the sustainable development of the holy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the aim of improving the level of oral and dental health. It also tries to achieve this goal by training and empowering dental science researchers in the country, as well as training and transferring knowledge based on the needs of the armed forces community in the field of basic and clinical sciences with a health-oriented dentistry approach.

Vision

The Research Center for the Prevention of Oral and Dental Diseases at Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences intends to take an effective step in changing the country’s dental treatment approach to a health-oriented approach by conducting research activities in the fields of community-oriented dentistry and clinical dentistry, play an important role in developing the level of oral and dental health of the armed forces and society, and provide the basis for the development and transfer of health-oriented dental knowledge in the country as well.

Mission

  • Developing and applying human knowledge in the field of health-oriented dentistry.
  • Conducting fundamental epidemiological and clinical research in order to improve the dental healthcare service delivery system in the country in order to respond to the needs of the growth and development of society’s health.
  • Collecting, preparing, organizing, and classifying documents and relevant articles and publishing them.
  • Training human resources researchers in the field of health-oriented dentistry.
  • Trying to attract the attention and cooperation of relevant research and executive centers in the field of health-oriented and community-oriented dental research.
  • Carrying out scientific cooperation with research and educational centers of other countries and international organizations in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
