Department of Medical Physics
The Department of Medical Physics at BMSU was established concurrently with the university in 1994. As part of a leading public medical institution in Tehran, the department plays a crucial role in advancing medical sciences and training specialized professionals.
It offers instruction in physics-related disciplines across the faculties of medicine, pharmacy, health sciences, and paramedical sciences. The department is instrumental in developing medical physics as a discipline, contributing to both education and scientific progress in this field.
In research, the department is recognized for its pioneering work on ionizing and non-ionizing electromagnetic waves and their biological effects. Its proximity to Baqiyatallah Hospital facilitates close collaboration with both basic sciences and clinical departments, fostering multidisciplinary research in areas such as medical imaging and therapeutic technologies. This synergy has led to significant progress in translational and product-oriented research, further bolstered by the establishment of a knowledge-based company by faculty members.
